They have zero taste in quality television, leave the toilet seat up, and sleep with your best friend. No thanks. Her life is fine just the way it is.
As the owner of a now-dormant bed & breakfast, single dad Lucas Croft finally has some peace and quiet. It’s only him and his five-year-old daughter, which is just the way he likes it. Because who needs a woman anyway? They nag you to clean up your stuff, want the toilet seat put down, and expect the dishes to be done the same day the meal is cooked. No thanks. His life is fine just the way it is.

Paige Parker has her life together well for the most part she does. The only thing lacking is her love life. She has come to the conclusion that she doesn’t need a man. She can celebrate her life without one. So she packs up and head to a cute Bed & Breakfast in North Carolina. The only thing is that the place doesn’t fit her orderly life.
Lucas Croft is angry to discover that his sister has rented out the B&B for a week to a city woman while he is trying to figure out his next moves in life. Yes, the woman in question is beautiful but she doesn’t fit in his life. To say that they don’t hit it off, is an understatement.
Paige arrives at the B&B to see that it is a dump. The owner is rude and he has a sweet little girl who still can’t help to save this place. She wants no parts of this and quickly look to leave but a pending storm leaves her stranded so Paige may have to put her organization skills to work on her vacation.
This book has everyHallmark cliché. I find it interesting that Paige would not have done more research on this place since her career is about organization. Also, that she would not have looked at the weather forecast. The two hate each other but they are dodging each other for the same reasons.
Lucas is not the most pleasant hero in Romancelandia. He says some of the most sexist comments. I understand that he lost his wife and he is struggling to take care of his daughter but he is rude the entire book. How can I buy that they are falling in love if he is a jerk?
There is not one single sexy scene. Not only did I struggle to continue to read the book but I had didn’t get any loving at all. I felt so disappointed in this story.
