When violinist Anna Sun accidentally achieves career success with a viral YouTube video, she finds herself incapacitated and burned out from her attempts to replicate that moment. And when her longtime boyfriend announces he wants an open relationship before making a final commitment, a hurt and angry Anna decides that if he wants an open relationship, then she does, too. Translation: She’s going to embark on a string of one-night stands. The more unacceptable the men, the better.

That’s where tattooed, motorcycle-riding Quan Diep comes in. Their first attempt at a one-night stand fails, as does their second, and their third, because being with Quan is more than sex—he accepts Anna on an unconditional level that she herself has just started to understand. However, when tragedy strikes Anna’s family she takes on a role that she is ill-suited for, until the burden of expectations threatens to destroy her. Anna and Quan have to fight for their chance at love, but to do that, they also have to fight for themselves.

Anna is a very talented violinist who is struggling to keep her self sane after she went viral. The pressure is mounting on her and she has a lot to contend with in her personal life as well. Her family dynamic is interesting to say the least. Her boyfriend leaves her and she needs to regain her footing in life. Her friends convince her to take a leap of faith with an online dating service where she meets Quan.

You ever get nervous that an author will ruin a character’s story that you have anticipated reading about since the first book? Well, that was me with this book. I kept stalking the internet to see when this book would be released. I wanted Quan’s story so bad. He is so rugged and different than his family. He stood out immediately from book one. I’m so happy that the author didn’t disappoint me. In fact, this may be the best book in the series to date. I’m a little biased. I loved Quan from hello but hey who wouldn’t?

Quan is this tattooed softie that just warmed my heart. He has been tackled some hard health issues and he is wants to feel some sense of normalcy but it is very hard. Yes, his family is very supportive but this is something that he has to do by himself. When he meets Anna, the attraction to her gives him something to look forward to.

This book tackles real life issues and if you had read anything by the author you would know that she handles the difficult subject matters very well. All of the characters have something they have to deal with. The author lines up their mates so well. I like that the situation is never pushed aside and magically made better. They still have their trauma and issues. They just learn how to live with it and build a great support system.

Overall, I loved this emotional packed story and I’m glad that Quan got the story he deserved.
