I don’t think I have to tell anyone what occurred Sunday May 1, 2011. I won’t but suffice enough to say it has thrust the Navy SEALs in the spotlight like never before (in a good way, of course). My first thought when I learned that a Black Ops team performed the mission to take down the #1 Terrorist in the world was, Boy, they do make for wonderful romance heroes. They are in top physical shape, educated (most SEALs have a BA or Master’s degree), have courage beyond measure and possess  unparallelled mental fortitude. Seriously, these guys can kick ass.

I’ve read romance novels about Navy SEALs and ex-Navy SEALs, the most memorable being Linda Howard’s, MACKENZIE’S PLEASURE–fabulous book! The book starts with the daring rescue of Barrie Lovejoy, a senator’s daughter, by our uber-sexy hero, Navy SEAL Team Six member Zane Mackenzie. They share some very intense and private hours together before they escape Benghazi, Libya. Back home in the States, they face the consequences of that shared time… This was a hot, riveting read and I’ve read this book at least ten times since I first read it in 1996–and skimmed it a few dozen times.  MACKENZIE’S PLEASURE is the third book in Linda Howard’s Mackenzie’s series. If you haven’t read them, you need to. I actually just bought the entire collection in digital (in book order): MACKENZIE’S MOUNTAIN, MACKENZIE’S MISSION, MACKENZIE’S PLEASURE, MACKENZIE’S MAGIC (novella), A GAME OF CHANCE.

This is a 2007 picture of a real Navy SEAL. Can anyone say hello back tattoos. And I can’t say I’ve ever been totally into tattoos but there are just some bodies that can do it justice. This Navy SEAL does it justice.

So to celebrate our brave men in blue, today I’m giving away a copy of Pamela Clare’s BREAKING POINT and Mary Margret Daughtridge’s SEALed WITH A RING. Comment to enter to win!
