Yesterday, at the young age of 56, Steve Jobs, who co-founded Apple Inc. with Steve Wozniak at the age of 21, lost his battle with pancreatic cancer.

Although I knew Steve was very very sick, I prayed for a miracle for him. This is a man who has changed my life–our respective lives in some shape or form. Back in the 70s, Apple created one of the first successful ‘personal’ computer.


He bought Pixar and with the genius of John Lassiter, brought us TOY STORY, a movie that definitively changed the face of animation. After a stint away from Apple, upon his reture, he brought a floundering Apple back to life with the iMac, the iPod, the iPhone and the iPad. Now Apple is the number #1 brand in the world.

His innovative spirit and genius will be sorely missed. Steve Jobs was never willing to settle for less than the absolute best. And he never did. Lucky for us.

My admiration for him and what he’s accomplished in his short life is untold. Today I look over at my iMac, iPod, iPhone and iPad and thank the saints above I am here to reap the rewards of his talent and his drive. God Bless you, Steven Paul Jobs. You’ve forever left your mark on this world so now you can Rest In Peace.

  1. This is a very nice tribute to a visionary. He is as transformational as Henry Ford, Thomas Edison and Alexander Graham Bell and our generation was there to experience it.

  11. I don’t often post news-related things on places like Facebook, just because… I don’t know, it isn’t me, but I did post a farewell to Steve Jobs. As someone who holds a degree in Computer Science and works in the field, Steve Jobs and his innovations were (and are) a very real part of my life. I have followed news of his work for years.

    Many a nerd is very, very sad today. RIP, Steve Jobs. I will remember you every time I hold one of my sleek, shiny gadgets.

  14. So, farewell then Steve Jobs. You were the Apple of many an eye. His death didn’t come as a surprise but the reality has still come as a shock to many, going from the heartfelt tributes evident on many a blog and site. The thing that stays with me most about him is he said, as others have, you have to love what you do. That’s his legacy for me.

Even though he attempted to prepared the world, many heavy hearts are in deep mourning this sad and difficult day.   18. From what I have seen and heard, not only was he an inventive and innovative genius, but he was also a nice person. We are all lucky that his original prognosis of 5 to 6 months to live turned into 6 years. We are all lucky the world had him as long as it did.
