An ex of hers has publicly humiliated her in front of the world by revealing her scandalous bedroom antics. Suffering from the stares and constant whispers behind her back, she has created a wall around herself. She throws herself into art and her students, hoping to fill a void in her life. When the new kid in school starts to misbehave, she becomes close to him and the child\u2019s father.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Wyatt Svenson (nicknamed Ty) moved his son, Casey, to Bishop for a fresh new start. Ty is not sure what to do with his son as he continues to be called in to the school each day for Casey\u2019s problematic behavior.\u00a0 When his neighbor and art teacher suggest that Ty enrolls his son in an after-school activity and seek art therapy, Ty takes the opportunity to get close to Shelby.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Shelby has a lot of issues that stems from her strict and religious upbringing. Her father was very controlling and abusive. Her behavior throughout the book is understandable but at times turns me off. She uses Ty sexually to help her feel alive but rejects any emotional connection with him. She constructs walls around herself that he has to knock down. Once he got through one barrier there was another in its place. It took me a really long time to get to a place where I liked Shelby.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ty, on the other hand, is adorable. He has his share of issues but he deals with it like an adult. He ends up building a relationship with his son, Casey. Shelby hides her mother\u2019s illness but Ty gently pushes his way into her life, making her see that he doesn\u2019t only want her to use him as a sexual tool.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Overall, this is still a pretty good read.
