But Violet\u2019s memories have a sharper edge. She\u2019s never forgiven him for abandoning her. Or so she thought. When Jonathan\u2019s attentions turn seductive, she\u2019s in danger of falling for him all over again. And she can\u2019t help but wonder\u2026does he really want her, or just what she&#8217;s hiding?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p align=\"center\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"none-decoration\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/smittenbybooks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/review-sheilabold.jpg?resize=216%2C62\" alt=\"review-sheilabold\" width=\"216\" height=\"62\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It&#8217;s been a while since I&#8217;ve walked down Billionaire Lane. I&#8217;ve been enjoying a string of heroes who aren&#8217;t billionaires, but regular Joes working for the man. Sure they may own their businesses, but they are still putting in the hours every day. No jaunts overseas or private jets, except in this book\u2026 there&#8217;s plenty of that.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If anyone is looking for escapist and a bit out of the realm of reality this billionaire story definitely has that in spades. From destinations like Detriot to Arizona followed by London to Greece, it&#8217;s nice and widespread. I enjoyed the hop, skip, and jump of the settings in the book and found myself impressed with how the author kept them low-key but still meaningful.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Another point in Clare&#8217;s favor, she surprised me. The main characters, do not follow the mold with our hero, Jonathan being much more sensitive and less alpha male then I expected. A delight to be sure. Violet is little more alpha and vindictive. I understood her attitude, but believe she held onto it a bit too long.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This book is not like <em>Romancing the Stone<\/em>, though the name is similar. If you&#8217;re expecting exotic venues, yes. Suspense including plots, no. A contemporary through and through, while Jonathan and Violet are treasure hunting, so-to-speak, the main focus is them reconciling their past. I&#8217;ve said it before and I&#8217;ll say it again, I love reunited lovers as a trope so in that way I was automatically committed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I got lost where the characters took forever to grow and the same arguments kept running in circles. Sometimes you can beat the points to death, but in the end both characters developed and the story ended in a beautiful HEA. Is there any other way? Nope, not in my book.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Overall, if you enjoy billionaires, far away ports of call, lovers who were separated by past mistakes, and history this is the book for you. Readers who get a kick out of Jackie Ashenden&#8217;s Billionaires books will most likely enjoy this series.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">P.S.
