I am not always a fan of the amnesia trope, but in this case it worked really well. A lot of amnesia books deal\u00a0with the heroine losing her memory so it\u2019s refreshing to see it happen to a hero and fabulous because it threw the usual buttoned-up hero off.\u00a0<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This story was the perfect escape for an afternoon. A quick read that snagged me right from the get go. I easily fell for Sophie, a hardworking woman who\u2019s settled into office administration and believes that her future lies in a dependable job without risks. There\u2019s some underline plot stuff here I don\u2019t want to get into, but I can relate to a woman who\u2019s passing up on a possible dream for a steady paycheck.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As for the hero, King, whoo&#8230; I mean, what is not to like about King.\u00a0He\u2019s got that brash swagger, sex-on-a-stick swagger. On one hand I wanted to climb him like a tree. On another I wanted to smack him for being such a fool when the answers were right in front of him. This is what good romances do, they snag you in such a way that you\u2019re glued to your chair until the book is done.\u00a0I got clued. So much I may have had a slight crick in my neck.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I also fell for lines like:<\/p><blockquote><p><em>\u201c<\/em>Magnum<em>. More like mag-DAMN.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote><p>And<\/p><blockquote><p><em>\u201cSpeaking of special, where\u2019s Mr. Hotness?\u201d<\/em><\/p><p><em>More like Mr. Condom Central. \u201cHe\u2019s in meetings all day.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><br \/> One liners, whether internal or in dialogue, are basically my catnip. I love to giggle a bit while I\u2019m reading and Crespo did just that.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Outside of the humor, Mr. Hotness, and some fabulous plays on the office romance and amnesia trope, this book had an excellent setting, and believe story that swept me away. I may have mentioned above my afternoon was destroyed, in a good way. My only caveat, I thought there was a lack of communication between the heroine and hero that was a little too much. I kept waiting for a conversation to happen and felt if it did the story might have resolved a major plot issue sooner. It all works out in the end, but I think more conflict could have been pulled off with these characters without this plot issues remaining until nearly the end of the book.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Nina Crespo<\/strong> is going on my authors to watch list and I can\u2019t wait for the second book in this series to come out. I am not always a fan of the amnesia trope, but in this case it worked really well. A lot of amnesia books deal\u00a0with the heroine losing her memory so it\u2019s refreshing to see it happen to a hero and fabulous because it threw the usual buttoned-up hero off.\u00a0<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This story was the perfect escape for an afternoon. A quick read that snagged me right from the get go. I easily fell for Sophie, a hardworking woman who\u2019s settled into office administration and believes that her future lies in a dependable job without risks. There\u2019s some underline plot stuff here I don\u2019t want to get into, but I can relate to a woman who\u2019s passing up on a possible dream for a steady paycheck.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As for the hero, King, whoo... I mean, what is not to like about King.\u00a0He\u2019s got that brash swagger, sex-on-a-stick swagger. On one hand I wanted to climb him like a tree. On another I wanted to smack him for being such a fool when the answers were right in front of him. This is what good romances do, they snag you in such a way that you\u2019re glued to your chair until the book is done.\u00a0I got clued. So much I may have had a slight crick in my neck.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I also fell for lines like:<\/p><blockquote><p><em>\u201c<\/em>Magnum<em>. More like mag-DAMN.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote><p>And<\/p><blockquote><p><em>\u201cSpeaking of special, where\u2019s Mr. Hotness?\u201d<\/em><\/p><p><em>More like Mr. Condom Central. \u201cHe\u2019s in meetings all day.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><br \/> One liners, whether internal or in dialogue, are basically my catnip. I love to giggle a bit while I\u2019m reading and Crespo did just that.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Outside of the humor, Mr. Hotness, and some fabulous plays on the office romance and amnesia trope, this book had an excellent setting, and believe story that swept me away. I may have mentioned above my afternoon was destroyed, in a good way. My only caveat, I thought there was a lack of communication between the heroine and hero that was a little too much. I kept waiting for a conversation to happen and felt if it did the story might have resolved a major plot issue sooner. It all works out in the end, but I think more conflict could have been pulled off with these characters without this plot issues remaining until nearly the end of the book.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Nina Crespo<\/strong> is going on my authors to watch list and I can\u2019t wait for the second book in this series to come out.
