She is content with her life as a waitress in the small caf\u00e9. She is searching to find herself. Like everyone on the island, she plans to remain there as a Category 5 Hurricane is coming towards her region. Her mother and her ex-boyfriend try to convince her to evacuate but the pressure of them has Bree (as she now dubs herself) more determined to weather the storm.<\/p><p style=\\\"text-align: justify;\\\">This pains me to write this review because I so desperately wanted to enjoy this book. It\u2019s not horrible it just lackluster. I found myself fighting hard not to skim and then eventually fighting just as hard not to DNF. The characters, the plot, the romance all played equal parts in my feelings toward this book.<\/p><p style=\\\"text-align: justify;\\\">Sabrina and Drew are decent enough characters but nothing about them together made a big splash. Drew is kind of pushy and that turned me off from him. I liked \u201cBree\u201d more but she did make a few dumb decisions along the way. I didn\u2019t always get her logic just like I couldn\u2019t follow why she didn\u2019t evacuate. I guess we needed that flawed thinking to have the story.<\/p><p style=\\\"text-align: justify;\\\">The sexual chemistry between them is not there. I just wanted to move along. It didn\u2019t excite me and I need a bit of excitement in my romance especially the bedroom scenes. \u00a0<\/p><p style=\\\"text-align: justify;\\\">The plot has its holes but that is not the main problem. I think the pacing is slow. The build up to the Hurricane and then what actually happened threw me off. It went by so fast that it left me underwhelmed. The rest of the book is spent with Drew and Bree working towards rescuing the animals and all of the minuscule details that involved. Her ex shows up and of course you can guess what happens there. The ending moves rapidly with no further plot development.<\/p><p style=\\\"text-align: justify;\\\">Overall, the premise excited me more than the story. She is content with her life as a waitress in the small caf\u00e9. She is searching to find herself. Like everyone on the island, she plans to remain there as a Category 5 Hurricane is coming towards her region. Her mother and her ex-boyfriend try to convince her to evacuate but the pressure of them has Bree (as she now dubs herself) more determined to weather the storm.<\/p><p style=\\\"text-align: justify;\\\">This pains me to write this review because I so desperately wanted to enjoy this book. It\u2019s not horrible it just lackluster. I found myself fighting hard not to skim and then eventually fighting just as hard not to DNF. The characters, the plot, the romance all played equal parts in my feelings toward this book.<\/p><p style=\\\"text-align: justify;\\\">Sabrina and Drew are decent enough characters but nothing about them together made a big splash. Drew is kind of pushy and that turned me off from him. I liked \u201cBree\u201d more but she did make a few dumb decisions along the way. I didn\u2019t always get her logic just like I couldn\u2019t follow why she didn\u2019t evacuate. I guess we needed that flawed thinking to have the story.<\/p><p style=\\\"text-align: justify;\\\">The sexual chemistry between them is not there. I just wanted to move along. It didn\u2019t excite me and I need a bit of excitement in my romance especially the bedroom scenes. \u00a0<\/p><p style=\\\"text-align: justify;\\\">The plot has its holes but that is not the main problem. I think the pacing is slow. The build up to the Hurricane and then what actually happened threw me off. It went by so fast that it left me underwhelmed. The rest of the book is spent with Drew and Bree working towards rescuing the animals and all of the minuscule details that involved. Her ex shows up and of course you can guess what happens there. The ending moves rapidly with no further plot development.<\/p><p style=\\\"text-align: justify;\\\">Overall, the premise excited me more than the story.
