I can\u2019t believe I have to go home to Nebraska for my sister\u2019s wedding. I\u2019m gonna need a wingman and a whole lot of vodka for this level of family interaction. At least my bestie agreed he\u2019d man up and help. Too bad he had to catch a different flight than me. Then his plane got delayed. And finally\u2014because bad things always happen in threes\u2014instead of my best friend, his evil twin strolls out of the airport.<\/span><\/p>

If you looked up doesn\u2019t-deserve-to-be-that-confident, way-too-hot-for-his-own-good billionaire in the dictionary, you\u2019d find a picture of Will Holt. He\u2019s awful. Horrible. The worst\u2014even if his butt looks phenomenal in those jeans.<\/span><\/p>

Ten times worse? My buffer was supposed to be there to keep me\u00a0away<\/i>\u00a0from the million and one family events. But Satan\u2019s spawn just grins and signs us up for every. Single. Thing.<\/span><\/p>

Fine. \u201cCutthroat\u201d Scrabble? I\u2019m in. I can\u2019t wait to take this guy down a notch.<\/span><\/p>

The Wedding Date Disaster<\/strong> is the latest offering from Avery Flynn<\/strong><\/em>. In this book we meet Hadley Donovan<\/strong>, an event planner that needs a wing man at her sisters wedding in Nebraska. She thinks her best friend Web Holt is the best option to keep her sane against her cloying family. However, she’s been saddled with his evil twin brother Will<\/strong> instead. How is she supposed to survive the wedding now?<\/p>

Avery Flynn is always a good bet for a steamy and fun romantic comedy. She’s been writing in the same universe for a while now so some of these characters will be familiar to fans. Avery’s comedic voice and incredible characters make her books quick and fun to read for me.<\/p>

But I struggled with this book and the main reason is Will Holt<\/strong>. He’s a jerk for a substantial amount of the book, all because he claims he thinks Hadley is a gold digger after his twin’s money. He’s mean to Hadley and dismissive of both her and his twin when they try to tell him the truth. It took so long for him to find the “error of his ways” that by the time the romance picked up I wasn’t interested any more.<\/p>

Hadley was a better character than Will, she at least had some depth of character that gave me better insight into her personality. The frustrations she had with her cloying family was a refreshing take on the\u00a0 “close” family in romance. All to often these types of families seem unrealistic but Flynn does a good job of developing the side characters of the extended family.<\/p>

I wanted to like the book a lot more than I did. I was excited to read this book because the blurb sounded so interesting, but the hero totally ruined any enjoyment I had in the story. His attitude would be so unacceptable, and I couldn’t figure out why a smart girl like Hadley would ever forgive him for the way he’d treated her. Part of me was rooting for her to ditch him and send him back early.<\/p>

Over all I did like Hadley’s family and there were some genuinely funny scenes around those characters. Flynn is very skilled at writing a steamy love scene so those scenes were also a good read. But Will Holt was such an ass throughout this book that I can’t say I l would recommend this book above any of Flynn’s other work. If you’re looking for a better example of her skills check out Muffin Top<\/strong> or Loud Mouth<\/strong> for some really great romantic comedy.<\/p>

In this book we meet <strong>Hadley Donovan<\/strong>, an event planner that needs a wing man at her sisters wedding in Nebraska. She thinks her best friend Web Holt is the best option to keep her sane against her cloying family. However, she's been saddled with his evil twin brother<strong> Will<\/strong> instead. How is she supposed to survive the wedding now?<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Avery Flynn is always a good bet for a steamy and fun romantic comedy. She's been writing in the same universe for a while now so some of these characters will be familiar to fans. Avery's comedic voice and incredible characters make her books quick and fun to read for me.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">But I struggled with this book and the main reason is <strong>Will Holt<\/strong>. He's a jerk for a substantial amount of the book, all because he claims he thinks Hadley is a gold digger after his twin's money. He's mean to Hadley and dismissive of both her and his twin when they try to tell him the truth. It took so long for him to find the \"error of his ways\" that by the time the romance picked up I wasn't interested any more.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hadley was a better character than Will, she at least had some depth of character that gave me better insight into her personality. The frustrations she had with her cloying family was a refreshing take on the\u00a0 \"close\" family in romance. All to often these types of families seem unrealistic but Flynn does a good job of developing the side characters of the extended family.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I wanted to like the book a lot more than I did. I was excited to read this book because the blurb sounded so interesting, but the hero totally ruined any enjoyment I had in the story. His attitude would be so unacceptable, and I couldn't figure out why a smart girl like Hadley would ever forgive him for the way he'd treated her. Part of me was rooting for her to ditch him and send him back early.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Over all I did like Hadley's family and there were some genuinely funny scenes around those characters. Flynn is very skilled at writing a steamy love scene so those scenes were also a good read. But Will Holt was such an ass throughout this book that I can't say I l would recommend this book above any of Flynn's other work.
