So much so that he\u2019s ordered three dozen, with twice the fudge icing, for his 70th birthday\u2014a special event in more ways than one. It\u2019s to be held on fog-shrouded Lake Fleekom where, twenty years ago, his wife mysteriously drowned. <\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">But the next day, when Emily arrives with her scrumptious screamers, she stumbles upon Rich\u2019s corpse. With a guest list of possible perpetrators, and his last will and testament suspiciously left at the scene, Emily soon discovers that the Royalson closet is rattling with skeletons. As the fog thickens, motives mount, and the tricks outnumber the treats, Emily fears that Rich may not be the last one in Fallowbrook to go out screaming.<\/span><\/p>    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- \/module text -->                    <\/div>\n                            <\/div>\n                        <div  data-lazy=\"1\" class=\"module_column tb-column col3-2 tb_23787e9 last\">\n                                                        <div class=\"tb-column-inner tf_box tf_w\">\n                        <!-- module text -->\n<div  class=\"module module-text tb_2d1ea91  repeat \" data-lazy=\"1\">\n        <div  class=\"tb_text_wrap\">\n    <p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-25880 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/smittenbybooks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/smitten-diamond-banner-1.png?resize=296%2C72\" alt=\"\" width=\"296\" height=\"72\" \/><\/p><hr \/><p><strong>Release Date:<\/strong>\u00a0Aug 25, 2020<br \/><strong>Series:<\/strong>\u00a0<em>Deputy Donut<br \/><\/em><strong>Book: <\/strong>4<br \/><strong>Publisher:<\/strong>\u00a0Kensington<br \/><strong>Price:<\/strong>\u00a0$9.99<\/p><hr \/><p>\u00a0<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A new customer at Deputy Donut\u2019s, just days before Halloween,in Fallingbrook, Wisconsin, brings a batty (see what I did there) mystery-murder to Emily Westhill\u2019s doorstep. \u00a0Solving mysteries has become somewhat of an inclination as of late for Emily and this one will keep her on her toes\u2026or rather, her kayak.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Let me pre-face this review by saying how much I adored reading this book. \u00a0Now, let me tell you about it.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Emily Westhill co-owner of Deputy Donut is once again smack-dab in the middle of a new murder-mystery in Fallingbrook. \u00a0While Emily is used to the eccentric customers coming through year-round to her diner, this time\u2026this murder brings in a whole new list of suspicious and enigmatic characters. \u00a0<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The pace of this mystery is exceptionally well written and its timing, engaging. \u00a0The main character, Emily is a wonderful, well-rounded character; decisive, tenacious, funny and caring. \u00a0The author does a really good job at providing you with just the right amount of her character traits, for you to want to follow her along. \u00a0Emily is definitely one of my favorite cozy-mystery characters. \u00a0<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Solving mysteries for Emily, has not been a one-woman show.
