As the adopted Filipino son of a wealthy white family, he\u2019s always felt a bit out of place and knows a fraud when he sees one. She goes into full-on battle with the CEO of the property development company. She just didn\u2019t anticipate finding him extremely handsome and a worthy opponent.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><strong>Dorsey<\/strong> wasn\u2019t ready for Liza. She comes on a bit strong, but it is nothing that he can\u2019t handle. What finally throws him for a loop is the intense feelings she stirs up inside him. Can the two of them throw aside their differences to find common ground?<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">The story is a bit slow and awkward in the beginning. Liza really did come off as prejudiced and held a lot of stereotypes. She thought she knew everything, but she was wrong. I\u2019m glad the author used that to get the characters closer and develop Liza\u2019s character more.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">This is my first read by the author, and I look forward to more stories. <strong>Pride and Protest<\/strong> is such a funny read. This is a clever, fun, modern twist on <strong>Pride and Prejudice<\/strong>. I went into the story making a few comparisons but mostly remaining neutral, and the author didn\u2019t disappoint.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">Dorsey and Liza steamed up the sheets. I love the more sexual take on the story to give it a more modernized spin. The banter between Liza and Dorsey is something I love when I get into my favorite trope. They throw barbs at one another but in such a hilarious way that it is not snarky and downright mean. The chemistry flowed organically, and I loved every moment of it.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">Even though Dorsey and Liza had great chemistry, I wanted more from the secondary characters. I did chalk this up to my liking the original story so I went in curious about how each character will fair under this new version.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">Fans of pride and prejudice will love this take. She goes into full-on battle with the CEO of the property development company. She just didn\u2019t anticipate finding him extremely handsome and a worthy opponent.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><strong>Dorsey<\/strong> wasn\u2019t ready for Liza. She comes on a bit strong, but it is nothing that he can\u2019t handle. What finally throws him for a loop is the intense feelings she stirs up inside him. Can the two of them throw aside their differences to find common ground?<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">The story is a bit slow and awkward in the beginning. Liza really did come off as prejudiced and held a lot of stereotypes. She thought she knew everything, but she was wrong. I\u2019m glad the author used that to get the characters closer and develop Liza\u2019s character more.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">This is my first read by the author, and I look forward to more stories. <strong>Pride and Protest<\/strong> is such a funny read. This is a clever, fun, modern twist on <strong>Pride and Prejudice<\/strong>. I went into the story making a few comparisons but mostly remaining neutral, and the author didn\u2019t disappoint.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">Dorsey and Liza steamed up the sheets. I love the more sexual take on the story to give it a more modernized spin. The banter between Liza and Dorsey is something I love when I get into my favorite trope. They throw barbs at one another but in such a hilarious way that it is not snarky and downright mean. The chemistry flowed organically, and I loved every moment of it.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">Even though Dorsey and Liza had great chemistry, I wanted more from the secondary characters. I did chalk this up to my liking the original story so I went in curious about how each character will fair under this new version.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">Fans of pride and prejudice will love this take.
