{"id":6604,"date":"2011-05-16T14:49:09","date_gmt":"2011-05-16T18:49:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/theseasonforromance.com\/wordpress\/?p=6604"},"modified":"2011-05-16T14:49:09","modified_gmt":"2011-05-16T18:49:09","slug":"when-life-doesnt-go-according-to-plan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/smittenbybooks.com\/blog\/2011\/05\/16\/when-life-doesnt-go-according-to-plan\/","title":{"rendered":"When Life Doesn&#8217;t Go According to Plan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>by Kate Noble<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>When I was a kid, I had planned on being a movie star.\u00a0 As you do.\u00a0 I loved the movies and television and the glamour associated with them.\u00a0 Too bad stage fright kept me from being the awesomest Brigitta that ever warbled in a local community production of <em>the Sound of Music<\/em>.\u00a0 (Not to mention, you know, talent\u2026 but I digress.)\u00a0 The truth of the matter is, life doesn\u2019t always turn out as one planned.\u00a0 And it\u2019s a theme I return to again and again when I\u2019m writing my books.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_6390\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6390\" style=\"width: 200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/smittenbybooks.com\/may2011_kate-noble-follow-my-lead.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-6390\" title=\"followmylead\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/smittenbybooks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/followmylead.jpg?resize=200%2C323\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"323\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-6390\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Click to read Top Pick review!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Case in point is Winnifred Crane in <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>FOLLOW MY LEAD<\/strong><\/span>.\u00a0 She expected to be able to enter the Historical Society and be accepted as a member.\u00a0 But one annoying cousin and an accidental run-in with the flame-haired Duke of Rayne, and suddenly, life takes a major, screeching turn.<\/p>\n<p>When Winn ran into Jason Cummings, the Duke of Rayne, she lost her proof that she is the author of anonymous academic papers \u2013 which would have guaranteed her admittance to the Historical Society. Now, she had to bet the Head of the Society that she can prove a certain painting is authentic \u2013 and if she does, then she\u2019s in.\u00a0 But it won\u2019t be easy \u2013 especially since the proof she seeks is all the way across Europe.\u00a0 Not to mention her odious cousin will try stop her every chance he gets.<\/p>\n<p>As for Jason, he had VERY definite plans about the next stage of his life.\u00a0 He\u2019s going to get married.\u00a0 To whom, he\u2019s not exactly certain, but marriage is very definitely \u201cwhat\u2019s next\u201d for him.\u00a0 What his plans do NOT include is delivering Winn to Dover, then watching as Winn boards the wrong ship, and running after her, only to get hit on the head and be out to sea before he can understand that Winn did this on purpose.\u00a0 He most certainly did not count on joining her in this adventure.<\/p>\n<p>Nor did he plan on falling for her\u2026 hook line and sinker.<\/p>\n<p>Even though life doesn\u2019t always go according to plan, sometimes it turns out better than expected.\u00a0 If I had shown any talent for the stage, I probably wouldn\u2019t be writing novels right now.\u00a0 And I wouldn\u2019t have been able to show Winn and Jason that when things go wrong, everything can turn out absolutely, perfect right.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What about you \u2013 can you name a time something went wrong but it turned out well?\u00a0 Let me know and you could win an autographed copy of <span style=\"color: #800080;\">FOLLOW MY LEAD<\/span>!\u00a0 Just leave a comment below to enter!<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Kate Noble<\/strong><\/span> is a critically acclaimed bestselling author.
