The world wide web is…well really big and in the world of romance and books there’s a lot of stuff going on.  Today I decided to find out what exactly is going on where so I went to The Season Forum where authors sometimes post what they’re doing or giving away (yes, free books and stuff like that).

You’ll be happy to know that, yes indeed, free books are being given away by historical romance author Angela Johnson. Angela is promoting her November 2nd release, VOW OF DECEPTION (nice cover!) and she’s giving away 8 autographed books (including yours truly) and a $30 Borders Gift Certificate. Entry details are here.

As a knight, Sir Rand Montague’s allegiance is to King Edward I. But when the king orders Rand to escort Rosalyn Harcourt to court in order to wed her off to Sir Golan—a crass knight Rand abhors—he’s torn between duty and desire. For Rand has never forgotten the woman he spent one incredible night of passion with…

After suffering abuse at the hands of her deceased husband, Rose wishes to never wed again. But when Rand rescues her after Sir Golan attempts to compromise her, she agrees to marry Rand in name only. However, sharing such close quarters with Rand brings back memories of their torrid rendezvous—and tempts Rose to give in to an all-consuming desire…

Since Angela’s contest was the only one I found that was current, I decided to check out some of the other authors I know who have releases coming out soon and I stumbled upon Miranda Neville’s, which ends tonight at 8:00 pm so you have to hustle over there right now and sign up. Miranda is promoting her October release, THE DANGEROUS VISCOUNT (read it and really enjoyed it) and she’s giving away some fabulous new books and a Borders Gift Certificate. Entry details are here.

Diana Fanshawe has always wanted to be a duchess. She uses Sebastian Iverley to get to his ducal cousin, but finds she cannot forget the brilliant, unconventional viscount and his sizzling kiss.

Sebastian Iverley has no time for women until he meets the beautiful Diana. When he learns she is trifling with him, the scholarly bookworm studies what it takes to please a lady. He initiates a game of seduction and revenge that can only end in disaster … or true love.

And last, but certainly not least, historical romance author, Sophie Jordan (I adore her!)–who writes paranormal romances as Sharie Kohler–has now hit the YA market with her new release, FIRELIGHT. To kick off the release, Sophie is holding a fantastic contest, which includes ARCs (Advanced Reader Copies) books and 15 (fifteen) $10 Gift Cards for Barnes and Noble. Entry details are here.

The exciting news is that the film rights for FIRELIGHT’s have already been sold so it may be coming to a theatre near you soon. 😉  But we’ll hear more about that when Sophie joins us here on September 21st.  In the meanwhile, you can check out the trailer below.

  3. The web is a wonderful tool to keep you informed. I use it to explore author’s websites and books I haven’t read before as well as keeping informed of new releases. I like that I can check the stock availability at my local bookstore for a book that I am interested in as well. We wouldn’t have wonderful sites like yours to keep us informed as well.

  4. I am loving reading the books that I won from your anniversary contest! Was neat to see that one of them was an autographed copy. I also like that some of them are new authors to me and are quickly becoming favorites.
love your blog! keep up the fantastic work!

  12. thanks for the info 🙂 I enjoyed Miranda’s book (which I so luckily won from you) — a slightly different sort of hero, she did a good job of making a guy who seemed like a jerk a likable hero you hoped got the girl in the end.

  14. Great contest on Angela Johnson’ site. Thanks.
I have been waiting impatiently for the release of FIRELIGHT. I read about it on the YA sites when the ARCs went out. Sounds like it will be good.

  15. Thanks for the contest info. Actually, Miranda’s contest ends 9-12 @ 8PM…so there is still time to enter that one. Entering contests is my 2nd favorite pastime….can anyone guess what my 1st favorite pastime is? Does anybody care? LOL

  16. I’m looking forward to Miranda Neville’s new book. I’ve already got it in my wish list for my Kindle.
