Does anyone watch The Tudors on Showtime? I just started streaming the first season on Netflix. Vicky Dreiling, debut author of HOW TO MARRY A DUKE brought the show to my attention. Okay, I’m not being completely honest, she actually brought one Henry Cavill to my attention because prior to her tweet, I’d never heard of the man. Tudors is a great show but let’s just say he is a really good incentive to now watch. Do you know him? Have you seen him in action? Here are 2 clips:

Suffice it enough to say, I will continue to watch The Tudors and assuredly, Henry Cavill. 🙂

Speaking of historical hotties, I’m giving away a copy of Allie McKay’s MUST LOVE KILTS and Lucy Monroe’s MOON BURNING. Comment about my new discovery and be entered to win. Two winners, one book each.

  1. I try to watch this series (I think is on HBO) but just didn’t get into it for some reason.

  2. I haven’t watched The Tudors yet, but am going to get it on Netflix. Of course for no other reason..then the men! Have a beautiful Monday Bev!

  3. I have Showtime but I’ve not watched this series yet. I guess I’ll have to check it out.

  4. I’m not a huge Superman fan because I prefer Christian Bale’s Batman. But knowing that Henry Cavill will be playing the Man of Steel makes me want to check it out. I loved Henry Cavill on The Tudors. I remember him playing the son in The Count of Monte Cristo too.

  5. Ah, StacieDM beat me to the Count of Monte Cristo with Jim Caviezel. He was definitely Albert Mondego. It’s weird to think of someone as a teenager/young buck and then to suddenly see them all grown up.

  6. Oh Bev, Henry Cavill is my soulmate. He just doesn’t know it yet. Not only was he in The Tudors (if only the real Charles Brandon looked like that) but in Stardust, I Capture the Castle, Tristan & Isolde, Blood Creek and The Count of Monte Cristo. That’s right ladies, it’s time to queue up Netflix. He can also be seen in IMMORTALS later this year. And as Superman next year. 🙂 *HC rant over.*

And regarding those book covers: OMHenry! I may have just drooled a little.

P.S. Henry Cavill is a #mancandymonday staple on Twitter. Join us! 8PM CDT.

  7. I loved the Tutors,
Henry Cavill is so drool worthy that’s what made watching it all the more important. Watched it twice so far. Can’t wait to see him as the man of steel. Book covers are more drool time. Love them. Must love Kilts was a great read but I haven’t read Lucy Monroe’s yet.

  8. I love The Tudors now it is on BBC as well. Yay for me since I do not have Showtime.

  9. We don’t get any of the premium channels but maybe someday I can watch it on DVD. Both books look wonderful!

  10. We don’t get Showtime or HBO and there have been several series and mini-series I would love to have watched. I did get one season of THE TUDORS on DVD, but have not been able to watch it yet. I don’t think I have seen Henry Cavill act in anything. My loss.
Would love to read the two books you are giving away. Nothing beats a man in a kilt.

  11. I have been dying to watch this series but it seems as if I never have time to actually sit and watch tv – usually since hubby usually has the remote…I did not know that it was an instant view on Netflix – I should sit and watch that today since I am home! So thank you! I just adore anything historical!

  12. I’ve never seen The Tudors, but I’ve heard all about Henry Cavill. He’s gorgeous! He was just cast as the new Superman. I can’t wait to see the movie!

  13. Yes, I’ve been drooling over this piece of hunkiness for quite some time now! Love his accent , his chiseled looks, and that intensely emotional look in his eyes. Can’t wait to see him play Superman since it will give a whole new meaning to Man of Steel. Hubba-hubba!

  14. yes i love this, i like henrt but i perfer jeremy northam( may be spelled wrong) he plays thomas moore, hes hot hot hot

  15. Henry Cavill is one sexy man! I still haven’t watched the Tudors but I am going to have to soon.

  16. Going to Netflix right now . . . My husband is sure to complain about me adding yet another “sexy man show” to our queue!!

  17. Sorry to say I have not seen the Tudors yet, just doesn’t look like something I would want to watch.

  18. I fell in love with Henry when I watched The Tudors…SIGH. Now, he’s Superman!!! Can’t wait to see him in those tights!!!

  19. I have never watched it but have always meant to rent the first season to see if I would like it.

  20. I love the Tudors. I didn’t get to start watching it till BBC America started showing it. I’ll still have to play catch up by getting it from netflix. Yes, Henry is a doll!! Yeah, its monday!! ManCandyMonday!! Can’t wait!!

I would love to win Must Love Kilts!

    Thanks for the giveaway, hun!!

  21. I have not watched this series as yet but it sure looks good. thanks for the tip.

  22. Love, love love Henry Cavill! He’s so handsome and that English accent, *sigh.* The Tudors was a great series. I own all four seasons on DVD. Looking forward to seeing HC playing Theseus in the Immortals and the man of steel Superman.

  23. I haven’t seen The Tudors yet, but it looks good…as does Henry, and the two books you’re featuring.

  24. I haven’t seen the Tudors and I don’t think I’ve ever seen Henry Cavill in action, although he does look yummy.

  25. The Tudor series was tremendous! AND, will now be playing on BBC America channel soon! The series gave me a whole new appreciation into that period of history & the treacherous life in ‘court’. I recall that was the subject of one of your blogs awhile back – i.e. do historical novels whet the appetite for a particular era? The answer – for a novel or series (especially one with Cavill in it) – YES!!!

  26. I’ve never seen Henry Cavill in anything and I’ve never watched this show but it looks good. I will have to check it out!

Thanks for another fabulous giveaway. The books look great!

  27. I started watching The Tudors as the DVDs came out at Netflix. Glad to see the program is on streaming now. Might just rewatch it….and yes, Henry Cavill would be the prime reason to do so. I never heard of him either until I watched that show. He is amazing! And what a treat to have him as a 2nd hottie to Jonathan Rhys Meyers! …sigh….thud!

  28. OT…Bev! Did you ever post a winner for your April 18th blog about self-published books? Just wondering, don’t remember seeing the winner’s name.

  29. Tudors is on netflix instant. I have been planning on kicking my kids out of the house and watching it.

  30. You aren’t the first to recommend The Tudors, but never having Showtime made it difficult to watch. Guess I’ll be bumping them up in my Netflix queue.

  31. I’ve enjoyed watching the Tudors and he is a fine actor. The books sound really good and I have added them to my TBR list.

  32. I haven’t watched The Tudors after watching the clips I plan to check it out. Thanks for letting us know about it. 🙂

  33. Henry is a hottie! I just recently started reading Larissa Ione’s books….don’t know why I had not before. I usually read historicals but read paranormals for a change sometimes, and some contempories and suspence/mysteries (I like variety…LOL).

  34. The Tudors was ok but I kept watching for Henry Cavill! I’ll probably see Superman because of him.

  35. I have not seen this series…don’t have Showtime…but I would watch it if it ever came on regular tv stations. I always enjoy watching film on the Royals.

  36. Isn’t he just yumy?!?! I’ve seen some of the episodes of THE TUDORS…but with my schedule they’ve been out of order. Gah! I need to just get them from Netflix. Luckily my hubby will watch with me; I think because of all the heaving bosoms.

  37. I haven’t seen the Tudors or Henry Cavill because we don’t have cable, and I have never seen him in anything. My loss! Sigh… He is indeed drool worthy. I would love to win Must Love Kilts and Moon Burning though.

  38. I haven’t seen the Tudors yet, I’m waiting for the last season so I can watch them all. Mom really enjoyed it and she’s glad Henry Cavill is going to be the new Superman.
