Jumping right off the topic of books for the moment, I have to tell you I haven’t watched much tv since I started writing in late 2006. I certainly haven’t been moved to watch previews of upcoming shows…that is until this year. So now that I have my tv watching mojo back, here’s a couple shows that are ‘must watches’ for me.

THE PLAYBOY CLUB – NBC – Premieres Monday, September 19

Okay, I know the actor, Eddie Cibrian cheated on his wife with LeAnn Rimes and has since divorced said wife and married LeAnn, which isn’t going to get him husband of the year award. That aside (because I’m not going to judge him nor do I feel I have the right to do so), he’s complete eye candy in his role as Nick Dalton and I find the plot of this series totally intriguing. Take a peek.

PAN AM – ABC – Premieres Sunday, September 25

It would appear that Mad Men — my favourite show ever — has brought the 60s back into vogue since, um, the 60s. Perhaps that’s why I’m drawn to yet another 60s show but this time in the air, so to speak. There is just something about that decade that has absolutely hooked and captivated me so I can’t wait to get into this series.

REVENGE – ABC – Premieres Wednesday, September 21

I’ve always been intrigued my the idea of revenge. How far will people go to get it? Who do you side with? And to me revenge when it comes to the wealthy and privileged is even more intriguing. Needless to say I’m going to give REVENGE a try. I hope it doesn’t disappoint. Time will tell.

Okay, those are my three must new shows for the 2011 Season. I can’t get addicted to too many shows because I have so much other stuff to do, including writing many many more books. What about you? Anything new tickling your fancy in the coming Season?

I know I’m looking forward to Downton Abbey’s 2nd season and in case you missed season 1, I’m given away the DVD to catch you up. Comment to enter to win.

74 Replies to “2011 Fall Line Up – What are you planning to watch”

  1. I have several shows I am already hooked on coming back on so I hate to start any more. Can’t wait for The Good Wife to start back up. I have never watched Downton Abbey

  2. Revenge looks pretty good. After last night’s Emmy’s, I’m thinking I need to catch up with Modern Family. Anyone out there a fan?

  3. I am going to watch Revenge – I read the pilot last week (it was free on Amazon ;D) and it looks to be very intriguing. I will not watch the Playboy Club because I do think that kind of thing objectifies women (I’ve never liked Hefner and the idea of all those bunnies) and I don’t care for Eddie Cibrian. Just my opinion. 🙂 I feel like Two and a Half Men is being “reborn” now that Ashton Kutcher is the replacement male lead after Charlie Sheen’s departure, and I love Ashton Kutcher – he’s hilarious.

  4. I watch a lot of HGTV and food network, but I am looking forward to the X Factor & Dancing With The Stars.

  5. I’m going to watch the following shows:- Revenge, Pan Am, Once Upon a Time, The Playboy Club (I actually used to go to the one on Park Lane in London, back in the early 70’s with my hubby) Two & a Half Men, Desperate Housewives, Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice. There, I shall be kept busy, thank goodness for my DVR player.

I can’t wait for Downtown Abbey season 2 to come back. I watched all of Season One, so you don’t have to enter me for this contest.

  6. Those 3 shows are on my To Watch list as well as New Girl, Glee, How I Met Your Mother, Criminal Minds, The Big Bang Theory, Bones…yeah, lots of stuff.
    Thanks for the giveaway!

  7. Well…I’m planning on watching Glee, Once Upon a Time and Grimm….I might add one or two others but I would rather spend my free time reading…lol…though I have to admit PanAm looks intriguing and I’m wild about Mad Men and counting down the days for it’s return:)

  8. I am bad about remembering when different shows are on so I will miss them and then completely forget to watch. Right now I am watching The Closer and The Wall ( I think it’s the name). I am looking forward to the return of Castle and Dancing With the Stars tonight.

  9. I don’t watch any dramas so I’m not looking forward to any of them, lol. I watch reality and true crime shows. I can’t stand the fakeness of scripted dramas.

  10. I have to share some of my TV time with my husband lol so I don’t always have first choice. I will be watching Castle and Survivor and Dancing with the Stars and NCIS. They moved The Good Wife so I will now be missing that show. We don’t have a DVR and when I tape shows I don’t always do them right or they start backing up on me and then I just give up. There were a couple of good shows that looked interesting but I’ll have to see when they are on.

  11. I can’t wait to see Pan Am and Revenge. I’m also excited about Ringer, and look forward to Unforgettable. Thanks for the giveaway!

  12. Besides my usual shows of all CSI’S,NCIS’ Big Bang Theory I want to see Unforgettable and the new 3 1/2 men

  13. I’m looking forward to X-Factor, Dancing with the Stars, Criminal Minds, NCIS, and Castle. Also, Person of Interest, Primes Suspect, Unforgettable, and A Gifted Man. Since I’m a big football and baseball fan, it could get dicey trying to watch all of them!

  14. I am looking forward to “Person of Interest” (Thursday at 9pm on CBS) with, speaking of eye candy, Jim Cavievel. It’s a JJ Abrams produced show so it should be good! I am also excited for the new season of “Walking Dead”. Love Downton Abbey, too, and am so ready for Season 2!

  15. I plan to watch the new pilots for the primetime shows- probably won’t continue to watch unless it is really dramatic. I think the Playboy Club and the one about revenge will be interesting. They have to go some to beat my favorites though-Burn Notice/Castle/Hawaii 5-0/NCIS

  16. I am so looking forward to the new tv season. Some of my favorite shows NCIS, NCIS: LA, Criminal Minds, Bones, House and CSI: NY. The new shows I want to check out are Unforgettable, and Prime Suspect.

  17. Revenge and New Girl are both great! I was able to watch the preaired pilots of both and am hooked already! I didn’t like the Ringer Pilot but supposedly its supposed to get ALOT better starting with ep 2 so I’m giving it a few eps. Once Upon a Time is intriguing so I’ll give it a few eps.

  18. I’m excited to see a new character on a veteran show: Ted Danson on CSI. I also can’t wait for new episodes of Criminal Minds!

  19. I can’t believe we won’t get to see season 2 of Downton Abbey until late next year. I am looking forward to the fairy tale inspired shows like Grimm and Once Upon a Time. I will watch Pan Am and Hart of Dixie looks pretty good, too.

  20. I’m looking forward to ABC’s Once Upon a Time and FX’s American Horror Story, and of course I am eagerly awaiting season 2 of Downton Abbey.

  21. Looking forward to the season premiere of ABC’s Castle. Watched a few episodes of Downton Abbey. Would love to see more of the wonderful series. Thanks for the chance to enter.

  22. Oh, my gosh, there are so many shows coming on that I want to see! All of the one’s you listed I want to watch, though I won’t be able to see The Playboy Club (bummer) because one of my favorite shows, Castle, is returning tonight at the same time. Tonight I am also watching: The Lying Game (ABC Family), Two and a Half Men (CBS), Two Broke Girls (CBS), Castle (ABC) and the season end of The Protector (LifeTime). Whew! And that’s just tonight! Yes, I am a TV *Coughwhorecough* hog, but I can’t help it! Love me some TV bliss!

  23. My husband generally dominates the tv in this household, so I’m sure he’s got his lineup already scheduled lol. I’ve always been a Grey’s Anatomy fan, so can’t wait until that comes back. I watched the pilot for The New Girl online and Zoe Deschanel is absolutely adorable and the show is equally cute and funny. Grimm looks great and interesting, and even if it’s terrible David Guintoli is real nice to look at 😛 .

  24. I am really looking forward to The New Girl and the return of Big Bang Theory. Plus right now my husband and I are watching Game of Thrones on HBO. Holy heck do I need a palate cleanser after that show – bring on Downton Abby!

  25. I don’t watch much tv either, given the choice I will always pick a book. But there are a couple shows I look forward to watching with my husband, Modern Family is one and NewGirl is a new one I want to check out. guess since my head is usually stuck in a book I let my hubby pick what to watch and see if he picks any good ones =)

  26. Eddie Cibrian is definate eye candy (even though his morals are questionable), I am si with you on that!

  27. I’ve already watched a couple new shows, including The Secret Circle and Up All Night. I’ll watch The Secret Circle Again, and I really want to give Up All Night a chance because I love Christina Applegate, but I’m not sure if I’ll continue. I’m looking forward to checking out Revenge, Terra Nova, Unforgettable, and Person of Interest. Neither Pan Am or The Playboy Club look interesting to me, so I’m skipping them.

  28. The only new show I am planning to watch is The Secret Circle. I read the series when it first came out in the mid-90s and really loved it. I was so happy to see it re-released and again embraced by a new generation, then later finding out it was to be made into a TV show. I have to admit even though I know adaptions of books on films won’t always be accurate but I found this show to be really different from the original story. I was having a hard time connecting things that actually stayed true. That aside, it wasn’t a bad premiere. I just wished it did a better representation of the story.

  29. I’m in Ireland so our TV schedules are different. Downton Abbey series 2 started here on Sunday. Amazing!!!! Have the tissues handy ladies.

  30. eep! DOWNTON ABBEY is amazing. I can’t wait for season 2. Also, I’m loving SMG’s (Sarah Michelle Gellar of Buffy the Vampire Slayer fame) return to television in RINGER. THE PLAYBOY CLUB looks interesting from all the promos. HAWAII FIVE O is back.

  31. I’m really looking forward to Unforgettable with Poppy Montgomery. I loved her on Without A Trace!

  32. I love Downton Abbey! I’m looking forward to Sister Wives, My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, 19 Kids and Counting, and Game of Thrones.

  33. Castle, and the 2 Fairy Tale spin offs are big ones for me… and then there is a slew of new ones like Whitney and New Girl. I will be busy between reading and watching! 🙂

  34. Totally looking forward to NCIS for some Abby, Gibbs action! Not too fan of NCIS LA but I will have to cool my jets until Tosh.0 starts. Oh man that guy makes me laugh

and Criminal Minds! I so can’t wait!

  35. My son and I will be watching the new season of NCIS starting tonight – he got me hooked on that, as well as Hell’s Kitchen – just watched the season nine finale last night – I always swore I would never watch reality television – so much for that promise! LOL – we both love watching the History Channel, History Detectives on PBS, etc, so we really do enjoy continuing to learn, as well – I guess that justifies “the other stuff”, right? 🙂

  36. i have many returning favs, but new this season for me will be:

    Once Upon A Time
    The Secret Circle
    New Girl
    Up All Night
    The Playboy Club
    Grimm
    Ringer

  37. I am looking forward to Pan Am, that show looks great. I am also looking forward to Sons of Anarchy the final season. Another returning show is the Vampire Diaries on the CW and Archer of FX.

  38. I can’t wait for my old favorites (Grey’s Anatomy, Hawaii Five-O, Body of Proof), but I’m really looking forward to seeing Once Upon a Time and Pan Am. They both look so good!

  39. Definitely planning on watching Revenge, Terra Nova, Pan Am, 2 Broke Girls, and The New Girl. Already started watching The Secret Circle and Ringer and enjoyed them. Lots of good sounding shows for the new season.

  40. I’m looking forward to my returning favorites:
    CBS: Hawaii Five-O; NCIS; Good Wife; Criminal Minds; CSI; CSI:NY; Blue Bloods;
NBC: Law & Order: SVU; Harry’s Law
ABC: Castle; Body of Proof; Desperate Housewives
    CW: Vampire Diaries
    FOX: Bones
PBS: Downton Abbey; Upstairs, Downstairs (I’m watching the original broadcast on Netflix right now…never watched it when it was on in the 70’s…don’t know why because it is very good.)

ABC has a couple of mid-season replacements that sound good to: The River; Scandal. And AMC has another new show coming soon: Hell on Wheels…sounds good.

Some of the new programs I’m looking forward to are:
Playboy Club, PanAm, Unforgettable, Person of Interest, A Gifted Man, Revenge

I recorded Playboy Club last night and plan to watch it later today. I’ll give all of these new dramas at least one chance to capture my attention. Since I graduated from high school in the 60’s, the era is a favorite time period for me and the retro-60’s programs sound very good. I thought at one time I’d like to be a stewardess…but sadly, I was (still am) too short! I recorded Ringer last Thursday, but was so totally bored out of my skull…couldn’t finish watching it and won’t go back.

I’m not into sit-coms and pay no attention to those programs at all.

  41. Thrilled to kick off the new season of CASTLE last night with a great episode. Enjoyed BODY of PROOF last year, so I’ll probably watch that. Intend to try PAN AM and CHARLIE’S ANGELS. THE PLAYBOY CLUB is opposite something I already watch and I have no TIVO, so maybe I’ll catch it during reruns. Also, of course, DANCNG WITH THE STARS!

  42. ARCHER!!! Sadly, only two more episodes for now? >:( Um… whenever Bones comes on again I’ll be all over that. Otherwise, I seem to watch the USA summer shows. And I can’t wait till the new season of Downton Abbey comes to the states.

  43. TV shows I’m looking forward to are NCIS and NCIS:LA. These are two shows that never seem to disappoint and where you love all the characters. My mom and me are totally hooked on them. As far as new shows this fall it would have to be The Secret Circle, Terra Nova and Once Upon a Time. Haven’t got to watch Downton Abbey but I’ve heard great things about it and would love to catch up before the new season starts.

  44. Sorry to admit but i do like Two and a Half Men. Also looking forward to Spartacus and Boardwalk Empire. Not sure when Shameless is starting but can’t wait for that one. Other than those the Downton Abbey is a fav.

  45. Last night was the start of Castle and it was great! I enjoyed Two and a Half Men too. Tonight is NCIS and NCIS:LA, both of which I can’t wait for. There aren’t a lot of new shows I’m looking forward to but PanAm and Playboy are two of them. Grimm is another. Grays, Big Bang, The Middle and Modern Family. Can’t think of the rest right now, my brain is fried!

  46. I’m going to give Pan Am a try. I’m not that much into Network shows but I love the shows on Food Network and History Channel. I’m eagerly awaiting season two of Downton Abbey and would love to win the DVD of Season 1. Thanks!

  47. I don’t really watch a lot of TV but I did watch Two and a Half Men. Now I’m just waiting for The Big Bang Theory and Mike and Molly.

  48. There are so many new shows that I am looking forward to watching. I am really looking forward to watching Pan Am, Once Upon a Time, A Gifted Man and Grimm. Believe me, there are many more but I just can’t remember them all right now.

  49. I definitely can’t wait for the second season of Downton Abbey. The setting, the clothes are so gorgeous. I would love to win the DVDs
    of Season 1.

  50. I love the fall shows. My favorites are CSI: Miami, CSI, CSI: NY, Vampire Diaries (Favorite), NCIS, NCIS Los Angeles and recently I’ve been watching Haven and Against the Wall on the Lifetime.

  51. I’m looking forward to the return of many of my fave’s and will add in Prime Suspect and X-Factor. I watched the Emmy’s last week and loved the clips from Downton Abbbey. I haven’t seen any of the episodes yet, but will have to check it out.

  52. My most awaited The Vampire Diaries Season 3 and the new show Secret Circle .. love them both so far!

  53. My regular favs are Castle, NCIS and Bones. I taped Revenge but still need to watch. I was drawn to Two 1/2 Men because I wanted to see how they killed off Charlie’s character. They did not disappointed me. It was funny

  54. I love Supernatural on CW, which I think is airing tonight for the first time. 7th season can’t believe it.

I am a little interested in this new show Persons of Interest and would take a quick glance at the new Charlie’s Angels on ABC.

  55. all the shows you listed sound good. I am now going to icrease my t.v. time which is almost none to alot more. i have a bad habit of setting the dvr to catch all my shows for me to watch later then I never catch up lol….I do get lazy on the occasional Sunday and veg out catching up.

  56. I’m looking forward to “Pan Am” and “The Big Bang Theory”.

I am an anglophile and I love British drama, comedy, etc. I would really like to win Downton Abbey’s 2nd season. My mother would enjoy it as well. So you’d be giving two people a very special gift. TA!

  57. I saw the first episode of the first season today online. I have to say I’m HOOKED!
It looks SO interesting and I can’t wait to continue watching. I’d LOVE to win the set!

Thank you for everything that you do!
    Ronda

  58. Spartacus the 3rd season is sure to be a hit – I think the guy that starred in the 2nd season was much hotter than the original star who sadly recently died of cancer. 🙁
Another great show is Game of Thrones.
