Which means winter is on its way–although depending on where you live, you may feel like it’s here already. So with a new season means a new theme for The Season sites. If you’ve checked out the new December issue of The Season, you may have noticed the new theme already. Bear with me, the actual reviews will be us soon but in the meanwhile you can check out many of publishers’ offerings for this month of Christmas.

If you were a winner in the Thanksgiving MEGA Giveaway, remember you have until December 3rd to contact me with your list of books. I’ll be responding to everyone then. Oh and please remember to read the rules–there are only so many Premium books you can get.

Now let’s talk about Christmas shopping. Have you started yours yet? I’m halfway through my son’s list–all of which I’ve ordered from Amazon and boy are they fast. I received the Kindle Fire first. I had to give it the once over you know, charge the battery, test it out. I’ll say this about it, for $199 it’s not a bad deal. It’s definitely not the iPad and is 100% Amazon-centric. For myself, I wouldn’t purchase it over an iPad but for a second tablet and one for a child who doesn’t need some of the fancier features of an iPad, I don’t think you can go wrong. I’ll tell you more about after Christmas when it goes into full use. 😉

eReader users, do you feel you got gipped in my Thanksgiving Giveaway? Well I’m going to try to fix that in a very small way today by giving away 3 $10 eGift Cards from an etailer of your choice.  Just comment to enter to win!

  1. Bev, don’t count me in this time. I was one of the winners in the Thanksgiving Contest. Besides, my phone is too small and annoying to read and e-book. So, good luck ladies! As for the Winter Seasons. I really like it! Thanks for the imput on the Kindle Fire… Does anyone know much about the new Nook e-reader. Is it similar to the Kindle Fire? 🙂

    1. Gee’s… I really need to re-read my messages before sending them.
(read an e-book) (input not imput) 🙁

  2. I was so happy to check out the December issue of the site!

And, thank you for your initial feedback on the Kindle Fire. I’ve been looking at it ever since Amazon announced its release.

Lastly, your Thanksgiving giveaway was very generous — thank you again for that one. And thank you for this new giveaway as well. ^_^

  3. My Christmas shopping list is small and though I haven’t started I have solid ideas. Thank you for the opportunity to win an eCard.

  4. I thought the mega giveaway was cool since I read both paper and e-books. Thanks for giveaway – a gift card towards books is always appreciated.

  5. Thank you Bev for all the wonderful contests. I would love a chance to win. I’m almost done with my Christmas shopping.

  6. I love my new Kindle Fire, have watched some shows on it and I think it’s great. I also have a Nook color which is good- I bought The Spawn one so we could share books (hers is linked to my account).

I too would love a chance to win.

    Thanks!!!

  7. Always great giveaways. Went Christmas shopping today, Macys has an amazing sale (have to admit I got sidetracked with shoes for myself lol). Also, took advantage of Cyber Monday because there was no way I was dragging myself out on Black Friday. Life is so much easier if you can get all the shopping done earlier rather then later.
I’m happy w/ my Kindle but the Fire looks so nice. But can’t justify replacing it just yet 🙂 .

  8. I think the Season’s new look is awesome. I love the seasonal design. 🙂

I’m hoping to get an ASUS Transform tablet (http://www.asus.com/Eee/Eee_Pad/Eee_Pad_Transformer_TF101/) with the keyboard attachment, so that it can double as both a tablet and a laptop. I’ve considered the Kindle Fire, just because I’m thinking about subscribing to Amazon Prime for the streaming video and I figured the Fire would be optimized to play video from Amazon’s service, but I’m really digging the ASUS tablet.

I was one of the winners in the Thanksgiving giveaway, so count me out of the gift certificates drawing. Good luck to everyone else! 🙂

  9. Actualy did a little Christmas shopping today. Yea! Two brothers down, haha 🙂
Thank you for the awesome givaway!

  10. So that is your take on the Kindle Fire…I have been debating getting one. I LOVE my iPad but would like something smaller just to read my ebooks. Maybe just for that I wouldn’t mind it, and keep fighting with my husband over the iPad (although it seems he usually wins…maybe because I just give up and pick up a book hahaha!)

Christmas shopping? Guess I better get a game plan on that, at least I have a day off from work to devote to getting all that done…can it be done? Either way I love Christmas! Can’t wait for some snow!

  11. I love cyber shopping, that way I don’t have to brave the madness in the stores. Thanks for the giveaway.

  12. Great giveaway! I would love a chance to be entered in it.

Can’t wait to check out the new December issue of The Season!!!

  13. I am pretty much done with all of my Christmas shopping. I started on Thursday evening and finished on Sunday. It was a marathon, but I feel like I got exactly what I wanted at great prices. I too ordered quite a bit from Amazon. I know people complain about them being a monopoly and all, but as a consumer not just a reader, when I can get such a variety of items with reviews on products that I usually find informative and reliable (not talking books here) and usually at the best prices…with free shipping (for the most part) I LOVE THAT!

  14. I so often hear iPads recommended for autistic kids, I’m really curious if the new tablets will have any of the same functions. Much as I love my son, I can’t see buying him an iPad at the moment. 🙂

  15. I love giveaways, too. Thanks for this one. 🙂

There are some Christmas books that only came out as ebooks. I look at them about every day on B&N.com, but haven’t gotten them yet.

I’ve read four Christmas books so far and enjoyed all of them. “Lady Sophie’s Christmas Wish” by Grace Burrowes is my favorite. It’s got great characters in a wonderful story, laughter, and poignant moments. It’s warm, charming, and terrific!

  16. I read both paper and ebooks–I like them all. Your latest giveaway is very generous; thanks.

I’ve been pretty good about my Christmas shopping. I’ve done a lot on-line, and I’m finished (I think!)

  17. No e-reader yet. I really should break down and get one. I finished the last of my Christmas shopping today. Now all I need to do is find time to wrap them.

  18. I haven’t started my Christmas shopping yet, but hoping to get a jump on it this weekend. I have teenage boys, they are so hard to buy for, it was a lot easier when they were little and still wanted toys.

  19. As usual, you are more than generous with the giveaways! Thanks so much. Congrats to the Thanksgiving giveaway winners!

  20. I’m giving lots of gift cards this year….but I’d love the chance to have one for myself too. Thanks for the giveaway!

  21. I could sure use the gift card this time of the year. I would love to have the Kindle fire myself, your son is so lucky.

  22. Still some shopping to do. Love getting ebooks to read, so much easier for me – either on the Kindle or the laptop works for me.

  23. Each year, my shopping list gets smaller and smaller. With that said, yes, I have finished shopping! I shop for about 4 people. LOL
