Personally, before I buy or read a new author, I usually jump on Twitter and ask readers to compare the author books to an author I’m more familiar with. I find it helps me to decide whether to buy or read that author’s books. For this reason, I decided to create a new feature page on The Season website titled IF YOU LOVE AUTHOR X (Well-known author), YOU SHOULD TRY AUTHOR Y (lesser known or unknown author). To this end, I desperately need your help. I don’t read enough genres to do this on my own. I need your input.

And for the commenter who gives me the best comparison(s), you will receive the books below. 🙂

  1. If you love Sarah MacLean (Nine Rules to Break when Romancing a Rake, Ten Ways to Be Adored When Landing a Lord, Eleven Scandals to Start to Win a Duke’s Heart) you should try Heather Snow, whose first book, Sweet Enemy: A Veiled Seduction Novel, was published early this year.

Both authors have intelligent characters, especially their heroines. Their books also feature unique plots, clever dialogue, and satisfying conclusions. I highly recommend all these books.

  2. If you love Lora Leigh who writes the Breed series. Then you will love Nicky Charles who writes The Mating, The Keeping and The Finding. I think Nicky Charles writes Paranormal Romance just as well as Lora Leigh. They both make it sound so real. I don’t read a lot of Paranormal Romance books, but I love to read both of these authors.

  3. If you like Sabrina Jeffries who has written series like School for Heiress & the Hellions of Halstead Hall then you will love Ava Stone the Scandalous series. Both writers a lot of fun to read.

  4. If you like Jill Shalvis (who doesn’t) you may like Mariah Stewart – both contemporary writers with a sense of humor.

  5. Amazing idea! If you love Sarah MacLean and Julia Quinn you will also love Olivia Parker (At The Bride Hunt Ball, To Wed a Wicked Earl and Guarding a Notorious Lady).
If you love Judith McNaught, you will also love Beverley Kendall.

  6. If you like Pamela Clare’s I Team series, you will enjoy Laura Griffin’s books like her Tracers series.

  7. If you like Paul Quinn’s Children of the Mist series, you’ll love Monica McCarty’s Highland Guard series.

  8. If you like Bella Andre’s sex scenes then you’ll like Tina Folsom’s. Don’t worry, I’m not judging you for judging me. Sex is what sets erotica novels apart from Disney cartoons (I’m pointing at you, Aladdin). Andre writes contemporary erotica and her characters get kinky. Tina Folsom writes paranormal contemporary erotica and her characters get kinky-er.

  9. If you like Victoria Alexander I think you’ll like Theresa Romain.

If you like Julia Quinn (Bridgerton’s) I think you’ll like Jillian Hunter (Boscastle’s).

  10. If you like Jill Shalvis books then you’ll like Carly Phillips – Both write with light heart feel good manner
Kresley Cole you’d like Gena Showalter

  11. Glad this will be a new section to the site. My question is How do we decide if they are a better known author? I have read several Linda Lael Miller books and yet Joanna Wayne’s are very similar. I enjoy reading Joanna’s better though because she is less wordy and has better dialogue.

  12. If you like Susan Elizabeth Phillips, you should try Rachel Gibson. Both wrote contempoary series set in the world of sports: SEP wrote about football, while Rachel Gibson wrote about hockey.
